Disclaimer for Individuals Using Our Services

Before engaging with our services, please review the following important points:

Interpretation and Application
Our services are based on alternative medicine, metaphysical principles, psychodynamic education, and mindfulness. These fields involve subjective interpretation and may vary between practitioners. We encourage you to use discernment and apply the knowledge in a way that aligns with your personal and professional integrity.

Not a Substitute for Professional Advice
The insights and guidance provided through our services are for educational purposes only. They do not replace medical, psychological, or scientific advice from qualified professionals. If you require medical or therapeutic support, please consult a licensed practitioner.

Legal and Ethical Compliance

We are trained to employ ethical practices that prioritise emotional safety. Additionally, we are legally aligned to refer anyone in need of professional care to the appropriate expert. In this way, we ensure no harm is done, we honour all modalities, and we collaborate for the greater good of individuals. Our services comply with applicable laws in the regions we serve.

Referral Responsibilities
If a situation arises that is beyond our expertise, we strongly encourage you to seek guidance from appropriate professionals. Recognising your boundaries is essential to ethical practice.

Personal Responsibility
You are solely responsible for how you choose to engage with and apply the insights gained from our services. We trust that you will use this knowledge with care, respect, and mindfulness.

Disclaimer for Trainees Studying with Us

Before engaging with our training materials, please review the following key considerations:

Nature of Training Content
Our courses are rooted in alternative medicine, metaphysical principles, psycho-spiritual education, and mindfulness. These subjects may differ from conventional psychological and medical models. The perspectives shared are those of the instructors and are meant to expand awareness, not to replace professional clinical training.

Not a Certification for Medical or Psychological Practice
Completion of our courses does not qualify you to diagnose, treat, or prescribe for medical or psychological conditions. This training is designed to deepen self-awareness and professional growth, not to replace regulated professional education in healthcare or psychology.

Legal and Professional Responsibility
As a trainee, you must comply with the laws and professional standards of your region. If you incorporate our teachings into your practice, you are responsible for doing so ethically and within the scope of your credentials.

Commitment to Ethical Practice and Referrals
We are trained to uphold ethical practices that ensure emotional safety. If, during training, it becomes evident that you or someone you work with requires professional care beyond the scope of this program, we are legally obligated to refer you to the appropriate expert. This approach safeguards well-being, honours all modalities, and fosters collaboration for the greater good of individuals and the collective.

Trainer Perspectives and Continuous Learning
While we strive to provide high-quality, well-researched material, different trainers may have varying perspectives. If you identify any discrepancies or need further clarification, please reach out to us for discussion.

Application with Integrity
How you apply the insights from this training is entirely your responsibility. We encourage you to approach this work with integrity, mindfulness, and respect for the individuals you may support in your professional or personal capacity.

We appreciate your dedication to learning and trust that this training will support your journey in meaningful ways.

Professional Memberships in South Africa

At the School of Applied Metaphysics, we are committed to providing high-quality training in facilitation, coaching, teaching, and emotional support counselling/consulting. Below, we outline important legal considerations for those studying with us or who have completed our programs.

1. Recognition & Legal Standing of Our Courses

  • Our metaphysical wellness courses are designed to equip students with skills in coaching, facilitation, teaching, and emotional support counselling.
  • While we are not an accrediting body,  we collaborate with advisors from recognised professional boards to ensure our materials align with best practices in competency development and ethical service.
  • Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion, which signifies that they have completed training in a specific methodology or approach.
  • This certificate does not constitute a license or accreditation from a regulatory body.

2. Your Right to Practice Under South African Law: Freedom to Practice (Section 22 of the Constitution)

  • The South African Constitution grants every citizen the right to choose their occupation or profession and to practice it freely, as long as they comply with applicable regulations.
  • Our training prepares you to practice as a coach, facilitator, teacher, or mindful emotional support counsellor within the scope of a metaphysical practitioner, holistic wellness and personal development professional.

Regulated vs. Non-Regulated Professions

  • Our graduates are not licensed psychologists, therapists, social workers, or medical professionals. (Unless they have completed these qualifications independently).
  • Fields like psychology and counselling are regulated by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and require formal qualifications and registration.
  • However, holistic emotional support counselling, life coaching, facilitation, and personal development work do not require licensing under South African law, meaning you can operate as an independent practitioner in these fields when you work within a legal scope.

3. Regulatory Bodies & Membership Options. While no governing body officially regulates metaphysics, coaching, facilitation, or emotional support counselling, professional membership organisations provide ethical guidance and community support. Examples in South Africa include

  • COMENSA (Coaches and Mentors of South Africa)
  • ASCHP (Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners)

We have designed our programs to align with best practices from these bodies. Graduates may choose to apply for membership with such organisations based on their qualifications, training hours, and business needs. Membership is a personal choice and not a requirement for practice in South Africa. Further, we are engaging with SAQA/QCTO to align with evolving frameworks for metaphysical practitioners, supportive counsellors, and life coaches in South Africa, ensuring our training remains practical, relevant, and impactful.
4. Scope of Practice & Ethical Considerations. As a graduate of our programs, depending on the course completed, you may:

✔ Offer personal development coaching, holistic emotional support, and teaching and facilitating personal development courses and workshops.

✔ Facilitate workshops, private sessions, and group programs on emotional intelligence, healing, and personal growth.

✔ Support individuals in navigating emotions, mindset shifts, and self-awareness.

✔ Work independently, within organisations, or in community settings

.⚠ However, you may NOT:

❌ Diagnose or treat medical or psychological conditions.

❌ Prescribe medication or provide clinical therapy.

❌ Represent yourself as a psychologist, counsellor, or social worker unless you hold separate credentials in those fields. To maintain ethical integrity, all practitioners should provide a clear disclaimer stating that their services are educational and coaching-based, not medical or psychological interventions.
5. Legal Compliance & International ConsiderationsConsumer Protection & Ethical Clarity

  • Under South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act (CPA), all service providers must clearly define their services to clients.
  • We recommend including a disclaimer in your practice that outlines your qualifications, training, and scope of services.

Practicing Internationally

  • Laws regarding coaching, facilitation, and holistic support vary by country.
  • If you plan to work outside of South Africa, you are required to research local laws to ensure compliance with licensing and practice regulations.

Each service provider is expected to maintain the highest ethical standards, respecting the integrity of their professional role and their relationships with clients, colleagues, and the school.

14. Complaints & Ethical Concerns

Raising a Concern

If a participant, student, or client experiences unethical conduct or has concerns about a trainer, mentor, facilitator, teacher, supportive counsellor, or life coach, they are encouraged to address the concern directly with the individual where appropriate.

If a resolution is not possible, or if direct communication feels unsafe or inappropriate, the concern may be formally submitted to the School of Applied Metaphysics (Pty).

To submit a complaint, the following process applies:

  1. Written Complaint – Submit a written statement outlining the nature of the complaint, details of the incident, date, and any supporting evidence.

Final Decisions

The School of Applied Metaphysics (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to take appropriate actions, including further training, professional guidance, or, in serious cases, discontinuation of association with individuals who breach ethical standards.
