Our Story

Our story began in 2020, but its roots stretch back through the decades before it. As we reflected on those years, one thing stood out clearly: through our work in service to communities, we were seeing emotional strain long before it became visible. It wasn’t always a crisis, but a quiet grief and emotional fatigue that was being normalised and pushed aside in the name of coping.

Then COVID-19 arrived.

Suddenly, uncertainty became global. Fear and grief were no longer private experiences, but shared ones. It became clear to us that the challenge was not only the presence of distress, but the absence of everyday emotional skills. Many people had never been taught how to recognise emotional signals or how to stay present with difficult feelings without bypassing them.

Why a School?

We chose the form of a school because learning changes people in lasting ways. We had witnessed that when emotional awareness is learned, rather than assumed, people are more resilient. They communicate more honestly. They recognise earlier when something is not right. This is where prevention quietly becomes part of the solution.

We also knew what we did not want to contribute to. We had seen how the pressure to be positive, or to quickly reframe pain, can unintentionally dismiss real emotional experience. "Bypassing" may look hopeful on the surface, but it often leaves deeper needs unmet. Our intention was different.

A Call for Discernment

As our work continued, another pattern revealed itself. Many people naturally gravitate toward spaces that feel warm and holistic when they are struggling. However, we noticed that without early awareness, emotional distress can quietly deepen beneath the surface. This was never about blame; it was about the absence of shared understanding.

This is where our sense of care widened. We felt called to support a world where more people are emotionally informed, gently observant, and grounded in discernment. We need people who can hold space with compassion, while also knowing when to pause, when to seek guidance, and when to bring in other forms of support.

Our intention has always been rooted in kindness and responsibility, to strengthen awareness, not create division.

This is our story; an ongoing one, shaped by what we continue to see and learn together.

You are welcome to walk this path of awareness with us.
